An Act to define the boundaries of the Tribal Territories.
This Act may be cited as the Tribal Territories Act.
Commencing at a point where the Boteti River intersects longitude 23°53´05" E., being a point on the Batawana Tribal Territory Boundary, the boundary runs generally eastwards and southwards along the Boteti River to its intersection with latitude 21°S; thence eastwards along the said latitude to where it is again intersected by the Boteti River at longitude 25°02´E; thence along the Boteti River in an easterly direction to a point where the river flows into the Ntwetwe Pan at approximately latitude 21°01´S and longitude 25°17´E; thence generally eastwards and northwards along the eastern edge of the Ntwetwe Pan to approximately latitude 20°21´S and longitude 25°35´E, being a point due east of beacon C of the old Francistown District Boundary; thence due west for approximately 46 km to the said beacon C at approximately latitude 20°21´S and longitude 25°10´E; thence northwards for approximately 32 km along the Ngamiland/Central District Boundary to approximately latitude 20°04´S and longitude 25°11´E; thence in a straight line west-northwestwards to the intersection of latitude 20°S with longitude 25°E, being the south-east corner of the Nxai Pan National Park; thence northwards along the eastern boundary of the said National Park for approximately 16 km to approximately latitude 19°51´30"S, being a point due west of the north-west corner of Farm 1 of Nata Farms Block K34; thence due east to the north-west corner of the aforementioned Farm No. 1; thence in a south-westerly direction along the western boundary of the Farm Block to its intersection with the Nata/Odiakwe road; thence eastwards along the said road to a point where the road is intersected by a cut-line at the south-east edge of the Damadamoga Farm Block; thence due east along this cut-line and its prolongation for 18 km to approximately 500 metres north of Nekati Pan; thence in a straight line for 15.7 km to a beacon situated in Modala village at latitude 20°07´04"S and longitude 26°13´02"E; thence in a straight line northeastwards for 54 km to Boundary Beacon 272 on the International Boundary between Botswana and Zimbabwe; thence generally southeastwards along the said International Boundary to its intersection with the western boundary of the North-East District at Boundary Beacon 1; thence generally southwards and eastwards along the said District Boundary until it meets the Shashe River; thence generally southwards along the Shashe River to its intersection with the eastern boundary of the Farm 1-NS; thence southwards along the said boundary to its intersection with the Tuli Circle; thence along the Tuli Circle boundary to its intersection with the northern boundary of the Tuli Block; thence in a generally southwestwards direction along the western boundary of the said Tuli Block to its intersection with the Notwane River at Lokala on the northern boundary of the Bakgatla Tribal Territory; thence generally northwestwards along the northern boundary of the Bakgatla Tribal Territory to Ramaselwane Hill at approximately latitude 23°34´50"S and longitude 26°01´57"E being a point at the northern limit of the Bakwena/Bakgatla Tribal Boundary; thence generally northwestwards along the northern boundary of the Bakwena Tribal Territory to Beacon B of Diagram DSL No. 26/29 of Farm 2-LO; thence northwestwards along the north-eastern boundary of Farms 2-LO 1-LO and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve for approximately 320 km to a beacon at latitude 21°00´00"S longitude 23°53´05"E being the southeast corner of the Batawana Tribal Territory; thence northwards along the eastern boundary of the Batawana Tribal Territory to the point of commencement as will more fully appear edged in red on Plan BP 182(d) deposited with the Department of Surveys and Lands.
Excluded from this area is the area comprising Sowa Township as defined in the Declaration of Townships Order made under the Townships Act.
