FRANCISTOWN WATERWORKS (PRESCRIBED CHARGES) ORDER

(under section 20)

1.    Citation

    This Order may be cited as the Francistown Waterworks (Prescribed Charges) Order*.

2.    Charges

    The charges to be paid within the Francistown Township shall be as follows—

    (a)    the charge to be paid by any consumer per unit of quantity of water supplied through a meter installed to serve the consumer's premises shall be 40t per 1000 gallons;

    (b)    the minimum charge to be paid by any consumer for water so supplied shall be P2 per month or part of a month during which the premises of such consumer remain connected to the main water supply;

    (c)    the rent to be paid for a water meter installed by the Francistown Town Council shall be P20 and shall cover the whole of the period during which such meter remains so installed:

            Provided that where the cost of installing a meter is greater than P20 the rent to be paid in respect of such meter shall be equal to the cost of such installation;

    (d)    the charges incurred by any consumer under the provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) shall be paid by a consumer within 15 days of the rendering by the Francistown Town Council of an account therefor. The rental to be paid in terms of paragraph (c) in respect of any meter to be installed shall be paid on the approval of the fittings and pipes leading from the consumer's premises to the point of connection with the meter.

    All consumers receiving a supply of water shall pay a deposit as follows—

        Premises used mainly for domestic purposes, or subject to the exceptions listed below, as business or trading premises

    The deposit to be paid by all persons who apply for the installation of a meter shall be as above and shall be paid at the time when the rental for the meter is paid.

    All charges, rents and deposits becoming due in terms of this Order shall be paid to the Francistown Town Council.

1.    Citation

    This Order may be cited as the Declaration of Waterworks Area Order.

2.    Declaration of waterworks areas

    (1) Each city or township referred to in the First Schedule to this Order, being an area in which an undertaking exists, is declared to be a waterworks area, the boundaries of which are defined in the Townships Act.

    (2) Each village or area referred to in the Second Schedule to this Order, being an area in which an undertaking exists is declared to be a waterworks area, the boundaries of which are set out in the Third Schedule.

1. GHANZI

    Commencing at point "A" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-26 500, X=1968100) being a point on the right bank of the Chobe river; thence southwards to point "B" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-26 500, X= 1970500); thence westwards to point "C" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-24 000, X=1970500); thence northwards to point "D" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-24000, X=1969000); thence westwards to point "E" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-18000, X=1969000; thence southwards to point "F" (approximates co-ordinates Y=-18 000; X=1970500); thence westwards to point "G" (approximate co-ordinates Y=-14850, X=1970500) being a point on the right bank of a minor channel of the Chobe river; thence upstream along the right bank of the said minor channel until it reaches the main channel of the Chobe river to point "A" of commencement as will more fully appear on Plan RO - 39a lodged with the Department of Surveys and Lands.

    Co-ordinates are in metres on trigonometric system based on longitude 25 degrees.

3. LETLHAKANE

    Commencing at a point "A" on the north side of the old Orapa road with co-ordinates of Y=-59 500 m X=+2 371 900 m; the boundary runs in a general northwesterly direction along the said north side of the old Orapa road for a distance of 700 m to point "B" having approximate co-ordinates of Y=-58 940 m X=-2 372350 m; it further runs in a general northeasterly direction for a distance of 1800 m to a point "C" having approximate co-ordinates Y=-59 500 m X=+2 374 000 m; then in an easterly direction for a distance of 1 200 m to a point "D" having approximate co-ordinates Y=-60 700 m X=+2 374 000 m; then in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 2 950 m to a point "E" having approximate co-ordinates of Y=-62 650 m X=+2 371 800 m; then also in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 2 650 to a point "F" having approximate co-ordinates of Y=-63 280 m X=+2 369 200 m; then in a southwesterly direction for 650 m to a point "G" with approximate co-ordinates Y=-62 940 m X=+2 368 650 m; then in a westerly direction for a distance of 750 m to a point "H" with approximate co-ordinates Y=-62 200 m X=+2 368 540 m; then in a northwesterly direction for a distance of 3360 m to a point "J" with approximate co-ordinates Y=-59 500 m X=+2 370 500 m; then due north for a distance of 1 400 m to the point of commencement at point "A".
